On Saturday I had the opportunity to go to Google in New York City and be a part of their Google Event for Digital Safety and Citizenship. It was an awesome chance to meet and collaborate with educators, administrators and professionals from all over the country.

This week my 7th Grade students had the chance to listen to some inspirational young ladies from the robotic team - Robotic Rockettes. One of my former students is now a member of this team that completes in FIRST TC (First is a program that helps kids engage in STEM, and stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology". (More commonly known as the abbreviation FTC)

LTEF) for a Google Expeditions Kit. This generous grant has given my students the chance to explore places in the world they may never get the chance to visit. Taking a tour of the GooglePlex with my tech club inspired them to set their goals high (they really want to go bowling there). Showing my students the size of the Burj Kalifia changed their view on the size of buildings and what we as humans are capable of. Having my students be able to SEE a model of human lungs gave them a better understanding of the pictures and vocabulary they have been learning about in Health. But it was another teacher in my building who brought her ESL students home that showed me that these Virtual Reality Viewers are capable of so much more.

Having the chance to attend my first Games for Change Festival in NYC was an awesome experience. Thanks to the awesome team at Classcraft not only did I have the chance to listen to some awesome keynotes but I had the chance to talk with other educators and game developers about how Classcraft looks in my classroom.
